The Cabin Stove at Earth Ayni – Part 4

We are back on the Cabin Stove and hope to complete it over the next few days. Laura returned from Lake Titicaca so I have company while laying some bricks. We encased the core of the stove in double wall cardboard to isolate it from the outer facing. This provides a bit of room for the core to expand and contract under high temperatures and should eliminate any cracking in the facing. There are about five more courses of brick to go and then we only have to install the top of the stove, the cook plate, and the chimney. I think I might have a spot of tea when we finish!
